9/28/07

Sorry it’s been so long since I last blogged. So much has happened well lets see we have been going out a lot more now for walks and just goofing off in the park near our house. Max and Bella definitely enjoy the weather so much nicer than that 120 degree weather we had. However, I think I will be brining anti-bacterial soap with me from now on and I’ll tell you why….lets see…. It started last night when max and I were roughhousing with the kids and noticed that little max had gigantic sized bumps on his tummy and legs. Our initial thought was that it was chicken pox that he caught from Bella. However, that would have not been likely seeing as Bella had her chicken pox over a month ago. So we waited until the morning to call the doctor and set up an appointment to see her. After the Dr. Mohler checked Max out she determined that it wasn’t chicken pox but that it was some kind of skin virus courtesy of some kid at the playground. Which brings up the question of why would a parent knowing that their child a contagious skin virus bring their child to a playground only to infect others?

So anyways he is ok and the doctor said it should run its course and clear out in about 7 to 8 days.

Well here are some happy pictures of the kids.

Dinner at Amazing Jake's

We had such a fun day on Wednesday. We went out for dinner with my Tia Denise and Tio Yamil. They are two of my favorite people. We took pictures and just had fun playing with the different games at Amazing Jake’s. Max rode on the go karts and Isabella was thoroughly entertained with the dance dance revolution game. I decided to crown her Ms. Dance Dance Revolution 2007. So anyways here are some pictures enjoy.

Max and I baked cookies the other day and the picture is of him cutting out his shapes. That was the first time we baked cookies and it was funny because he kept eating the dough.

While we baked cookies Bella was eating her lunch. Yummy!

new video

It was surprisingly nice outside yesterday so the kids and I decided to take a walk. Isabella heard one of our neighbors dogs and started to bark like it. The video shows them looking for the dog and Bella barking like the dog.

Crimes against women are increasing more and more everyday...

I received this as an email from my best friend and I just thought it would be handy to read it in case (god forbid) anything like this were to ever happen.

Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or love one's life.
Because of recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself o these things to do in an emergency situation... This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, everyone you know. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1 Tip from Tae Kwon Do : The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM Toss it away from you.... chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR , LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.
If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it . As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.
5 A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage: Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat and floor
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably! in a zigzag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night. Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby ----
This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America 's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana.
Please forward this

I made Peruvian food!

So today I was at my dad’s house and we were both taking about how we haven’t had Peruvian food in such a long time. My dad doesn’t cook , well unless you count throwing something on the grill cooking haha. Well I don’t cook much either I just kind of dabble in it. No one really took the time to show me how to cook when I was growing up and also I think at that age I was probably to self involved to learn. So anyways we decided to try cooking aji de gallina it’s a pretty traditional dish in Peru. So we got all the ingredients together and started. I was a little worried at first but when we were done OH MY GOSH! It was so GOOD! It was better than my mom used to make it. (just don’t tell her I said that) So I was pretty proud that my dad and I learned how to cook it all on our own.

Here are some more pictures of the kids at my dad’s house making a mess playing. Oh and Bella is learning at a young age that she should always clean up after herself haha. There are also pictures of max and I on our night out for our anniversary. There is a picture of Bella when she had the chicken pox. Just a bunch of Random pictures enjoy.

Tears for Fears

I love Tears for Fears and I posted some of their videos on the side bar so check it out. The song is called Everybody wants to rule the world. It’s is a very deep song and if you listen to the lyrics you’ll understand the meaning.

I will quote the writer of the song Curt Smith- “the concept is quite serious- it’s about everybody wanting power, about warfare and the misery it causes.”

Honestly whatever happened to meaningful music? Everything now is so unoriginal and mass produced.

On another note, I strongly believe that trying to bomb another country because they did it to us isn’t the way to go about things. That just creates more problems and more innocent lives lost. I think that politicians should think outside the box.

Mom I’m tired

So this I just had to share because it was so cute. I was busy all tonight basically just cleaning everything up. I had already put Isabella down to sleep for the night. Isabella will usually go to sleep around 730 Max will go to bed at 9:00. So anyways, with everything that I was doing I completely lost track of time. Max comes into the kitchen while rubbing his head and says “Mom I’m tired. I wanna go to sleep” Never had he said that he usually puts up a small fight to go to bed but tonight I guess it was a different story. I just thought it was so cute. I told him ok well go brush your teeth and go to bed. As soon as he got into bed I tucked him in and gave him his book he was out.

The car wash

My car wash was today and it went….alright. If you didn’t already know I have been trying to raise money to send to the victims of that horrific earthquake that struck Peru. I pretty much made it my mission to help in any way that I could and since most people do not like to donate unless they are getting something out of it I thought it was a perfect opportunity to start a car wash.

I was expecting more people to help and more people to donate. Unfortunately, I had a total of six people that helped out and only four cars that got washed. I tried in so many ways to get the word out about what I was trying to do. I even wrote an email to one of the local news stations and the very next day I received a call back. It’s to bad I wasn’t home to answer the call but she left a message and well I called back and left a message and they never returned my phone call. Sad but true I think they probably thought it was old news, oh well.

So all in all I did make out with 50 dollars which I will be giving to the Red Cross to send to the relief efforts in Peru. I really wish more people would donate. It’s not so much the money (although that helps) but if more people would just go out there and do something for the good of man kind and their souls it really would make all the difference in the world.

Well here are some pictures of the car wash enjoy!

The start of something new

I have decided to start a blog. I just feel it is easier to keep people in the know about what is going on in our family. So I hope everyone enjoys and I will be posting new pictures and just random things about the fam.
